Moving forward we will be using Windows Hello, when you go to log in you will be prompted to set up Windows Hello please proceed with the process completely as it is a security standard we are going to start using.
When you first log into the computer you will see a screen similar to the one below:
You will want to click Set Up
Once you click set up you will be prompted to receive a text notifcation to verify your identity similar to the picture below:
After verifying your identity you will be prompted with a screen that is going to ask you to scan your face
After looking directly at your camera for approximately 15 seconds it will tell you that it's successfully captured your profile
As a backup you will need to create a pin that is MINIMUM 6 DIGITS the screen should look similar to the picture below
Click next and then set up a pin, it has to be MINIMUM 6 DIGITS and cannot be repeating numbers like 123123 or121212
Once you've chosen a pin click OK and then OK again
You will choose Sign In Options and click PIN
And then after typing in your pin it will do a facial scan so look at your computer screen camera and allow it to verify your face so you can log in. After doing this once, it will set this as the default method so you only need to scan your face and input your pin next time.
You can continue to use the facial scan and pin or you can attach your phone to your computer and bypass the pin and only use the facial scan to authenticate
IF YOU ARE OKAY WITH USING THE PIN AND FACE SCAN AND DON'T WANT TO USE JUST THE FACE SCAN YOU CAN SKIP THE NEXT SECTION
If you do not want to input a pin everytime you can link your phone via bluetooth and when it detects your phone it will automatically log you in after detecting your face to get this set up follow the instruction:
Log into your computer using the pin and facial scan and then go to the bottom right hand corner and click the UP arrow circled in the picture, then click the bluetooth device icon and click add a bluetooth device
After you click add a bluetooth device a screen similar to the one shown below will appear:
Click add device and then choose bluetooth:
Make sure the bluetooth on your phone is turned on:
Then you will want to connect to the tablet under available devices and once you do that it will prompt you to pair, you will want to click connect and then it should say UNKNOWN DEVICE SUCCESSFULLY CONNECTED
After your device shows as connected and it should be listed under the connected devices on the compuiter you should be able to lock your computer and choose the Smiley Face Icon and AFTER it scans your face it will show this screen
Checking to see if your phone is nearby and when it checks that it is, it will log you in.
PLEASE NOTE: WINDOWS HELLO WILL TAKE UP TO ONE HOUR TO START WORKING AFTER IT IS SET UP ON YOUR COMPUTER
Before it starts working, you will not be able to sign into your computer using the facial scan, you will need to default back to the password method, also note that if the facial scan doesn't work for whatever reason you can always default to putting in your password and that will work every time. To get the option to put in your password click Sign In Options and then click the Key Icon
